Project Description

 

  

Croatia signed the Bologna Declaration in 2001 and the requirements of Bologna were implemented in The Act on Higher Education and Research in Croatia, which was adopted by Croatian Parliament in year 2003. Due to that, the need has occurred at the universities for better information about Bologna requirements and best practice exchange in order to make the transformation of the system feasible. On the other hand the Ministry needs expertise on the theoretical and practical foundations for reform polices and development strategies.  The EU partners will exchange their know-how with us.

 

Wider Objective:        

To meet the Bologna requirements and demands of The Act on Higher Education and Research in Croatia in order to join EHEA and to intensify the cooperation in the field of higher education in the region.

 

Indicators of progress:

- New curricula meeting the Bologna requirements

- More common projects among partners

- Increased mobility

-Raise the awareness of need for cooperation in the field of higher education in Europe          

 

How indicators can be assessed:

- Greater number of new curricula

- The increased number of exchanged students, teachers and staff       

 

Assumptions & risks:

Assumption - National Committee for Higher of Education and/or Ministry of Science, Education and Sport speed-up the process of evaluation of new curricula.

Risk - Students do not recognize the new degree system

           

Specific project objective:

The Bologna Promoters team deployed, 150 Croatian university teachers, students, staff and management at 6 universities enriched with knowledge and understanding of Bologna importance.

To provide Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sport with the expertise about Bologna implementation.

 

Indicators of progress:

- More teachers and university and faculty management familiar with Bologna requirements

- International (European) recognition of Croatian HE

- More effective decision making process at the universities and Ministry        

 

How indicators can be assessed:

- Greater number of courses offered in accordance with Bologna

- Internal and external  institutional evaluation reports

- Individual reports on teaching and research activities

- Transparent decision making system at universities and Ministry

Assumption - State/University financial and logistic support for Promoters team
